I was 24 weeks when I went into preterm labor with my first son Logan. I was also on the magnesium drip (but it did work for me) they gave me steroid shots for the lungs, and total bed rest. When I got to go home (a week later) I was still on bed rest, and had to take a pill every 4-6 hours to stop contractions. He was born at 34 weeks and ended up being in the NICU for a little over a week.
I'm so happy your husband is such a great support for you- hang in there! It is so hard having no control over the situation, but you are doing everything you can to take care of your LO, and are in the very best place you can be for your situation.
Stay positive, Mama. My dear, dear friend was on hospitalized bedrest for 9 weeks. Her water broke at 20w and her baby wasn't born until 29w. I know the bedrest sucks, but hang in there. Miracles happen. My friend has a beautiful four year today.
Oh, I'm so sorry you're going through this! I'm glad you're in good hands, and that you have a good husband. I hope your little man stays in there as long as possible!
Lurker from Sept 12...Just wanted to send T&P and hugs! When I was pregnant with DD there was a mom in our month group that went through something very similar. She stayed on hospital bed rest, but ended up making it to somewhere around 34 weeks. Her DD had a NICU stay, but was/is perfectly healthy.

I will keep you, your husband and your sweet baby finn in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he will cook longer and that everything will be fine. Your story made me bawl, im sorry you and your husband are going through this, but its so sweet to read how much faith you have that you are in good hands. Im so glad the doctor didnt send you home!!! God bless hun, take care and keep us all posted. I know were all going to be anxiously awaiting your updates. Take care and much love!
Oh you poor thing! I am so sorry you are going through such an emotional and scary ordeal right now. I am praying like crazy for you and your sweet Finn, and I also believe he will get through this and make strides during his NICU stay Post often, as perhaps it can help to entertain you while on bed rest. And maybe try the High-Risk board, as I believe they have a daily check-in for "Bed Rest Mamas".
Hang in there, and major T&Ps that baby Finn will stay in there for as long as he can!

Just an idea. Does someone who knows how to create badges, want to make one for August Moms to put in their siggy to support ahend005 and Finn?
I can try to make something up
I just did this as a practice run. I think if we could try to come up with 2 or 3 and then the group could vote on them, that might be good. I went with our birth month color/stone, but I think someone that's better at badges might be able to design something cuter.

Sending lots of t&p to you and baby Finn! My friend delivered her son at 23weeks and he is a happy and healthy 3 year old. There are so many things they can do to help premies these days. With that being said I hope he stays in there as long as possible.
Best wishes and positive thoughts your way! I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles and try to stay positive...it's the best medicine! Bake, baby, bake!
I just wanted to say we had twins in our family born at 29 weeks and they did great and just had their 1st birthday on Sunday! So stay positive and everything will be fine!

My story is nearly identical to yours. I went in at 24w2d. I was told I had a day maybe 2. I made it 2 weeks.
My sweet boy is 3 years old. He is 29.5 lb. he talks in sentences. He can run and jump and is oh so happy. The happiest kid I've ever met anyway.
I won't lie and tell you it wasn't the hardest thing I've ever been through, what you're going through, but he's ok now. He does have mild delays but you would think he was a typical toddler if you met him.
