After 4 am...

DD decides she wants to wake up about every half an hour, then take at least 10 minutes of crying to go back to sleep...what's with this?  Anyone else's LO do this? I don't know if she wants to be up for the day (I really hope not!), or what else it could be.  We've Ferber-ed already, and she's a champ at going to sleep at first on her own.  Naps are great!  She already wakes once before this during the night and eats.  But then there's this!  I've kind of tried Ferberizing again for this, but it's hard...she usually doesn't calm down until I do a check...so even when the check times get longer she just screams longer till a check, then when I leave she settles down.  Any ideas or commiseration?

DD1 used to do that.  We tried putting her in the bouncy seat with the vibrator on and she would go back to sleep.  We put the seat in our room. She was getting a little big for it, but it was the only thing that worked.

DD also does this some days.  The last 3 she's slep through till 2:30, I feed her and then she is up again around 5am and I'm always torn whether to feed and hope she goes back to sleep or just leave her.  In either case we are not "up" until at least 6:15 as I don't want her thinking the day starts any earlier.

I wonder if we are getting ready to move our early bedtime (6:30) back to 7pm but I fear she will still wake early.

MY LO did this as well. We had let him CIO bc every time we went in there to check it was always worse. He stopped for a good month then he did it out of nowhere on Friday night. We didnt go on and he eventually fell asleep. He did get his first tooth today and has been fussy for the last week so I am guessing maybe he was in pain which was why he woke.

Of course now I feel bad that we didnt go in there but what are you going to do

I do agree you do not want to start your day during that time. We do the best we can to not start our day before 7 am
