Pregnant after a Loss

+HPT But Not Triphasic

I will have a formal intro up later this week since I am typing from my phone. I just had a quick question before my first Dr appointment tomorrow. I'm about a week late on my period, I've had 3 positive Wondfo tests. I've still been tracking my BBT which has not gone triphasic. Has anyone else not gone triphasic in their pregnancies? I'm not too worried yet, I just thought it would happen by now. I can't seem to find anything on the internet to indicate it's normal though...

Re: +HPT But Not Triphasic

  • I stopped temping at about 19 DPO (got a +HPT at 12 DPO) and my chart never went triphasic. I was under the impression that not every pregnancy had a triphasic chart.

  • I could be wrong but I thought that only some charts went triphasic, not all.

    Congratulations on your bfp!

  • Not every chart goes triphastic. I only temped for 3 days after my BFP, but it doesn't look like mine was. The important part is that your temps stay up. Congrats on your BFP!

  • It just indicates that your progesterone level hasn't gotten any higher since you peaked at 7dpo.  Many people's levels at 7dpo are already over 10 and don't need to get any higher at that point to sustain a pregnancy, so I wouldn't worry at all.  More often than not, people do not have triphasic charts.  Progesterone doesn't really start going up again for some until the beginning of the 5th week.

  • PP are correct, my chart was not triphasic either
  • Having a triphasic is not an indication that A) your pg, or B) that it will be a successful pg. Lots of women have had really crazy looking charts on the months they've gotten pg, and lots of women have had beautiful looking charts on the months they didn't. My BFP chart (link in my siggy) never went triphasic, but I did have sustained high temps. As long as you got a +HPT and your temps are still up, things are looking good so far. GL at your app tomorrow!

  • Not all pregnancies show a triphasic BBT pattern (I think on FF they actually say this isn't even necessarily typical, but it's been awhile). I would actually encourage you to stop temping! It will make you worry for no reason. Congratulations!

  • My temp never went triphasic and I temped until I was 6w4d. It just stayed elevated. After my betas were back and lovely and we had a strong hb I quit taking it. I wouldn't worry about your temp anymore....you are pregnant so enjoy it and stop temping. Sometimes you can even have a drop (I never did but others have posted about it) and it will freak you out. GL and can't wait to read your intro :)
