Glucose test vent...

It started out ok. I got my blood drawn and drank the fruit punch drink. Not to bad just tasted like a super sweet hawaiin punch. Everything was ok until the very last blood draw. The woman couldn't find a vein, the one she was using didn't want to work anymore. So what does she do? She forces the needle into my vein, over and over. And then she tries to find one in my hand. OMG that hurt. It wasn't the fact that she put a needle in my hand, it was that she took it in and out. And then wiggled it around inside my hand. And then said oh Sh** and jerked it out. She then tried the other arm, and pretty much bruised the hell out of me. The doctor finally came in and put an end to it. Told me to go lay down, because at this point I was about to pass out. The doctor sent me to another lab, and the guy had the needle in, and my blood drawn within a couple minutes. 

Oh and this is completely unrelated to the glucose test, but their was a couple in the waiting room who had a one year old, and they were so high on something. It was ridiculous. The mom couldn't even talk clearly, and the dad fell asleep while tying his shoe. So me and a few other women went and told the receptionist, she called the police and the baby was taken away. I'm going to continue to pray for the little boy. My heart goes out to all kids whose parents are druggies.

Oh wow to all of it! My 3hr was last tuesday and with the last blood draw the lady jammed the needle in. My arm was swollen and I still have a 4 inch round bruise on my arm from it. My OB told was like what happened and I told him exactly what happened. He was not happy about it.

I'm so sad for that little boy.

I also had to get my blood drawn from my hand. My veins are bad so it wasn't new to me but it does suck even if they do a good job.

I went for one round of blood work early in my pregnancy and the lady tried both arms, both hands, and was going to go for my feet when I decided to go to a different lab.  Walked in and she got the blood on the first try!

When I was teaching pre-k I had a little boy who was constantly sleepy, disorientated, and foggy.  One day he also reaked of pot.  Turns out this father was getting high with his little boy in the car.  Hard to make the call to SS, but it had to be done.  This poor kid was having his brain cells fried before he had had the chance to even form them all!

Aww that poor little boy I don't understand parents who do drugs. Makes no sense. I guess they're just that selfish...
