Hello there ladies, I hope yalls week is going better than mine. Well my last ccyle was then end of last month with clomid 150mg. When I went in for my u/s I, of course, grew no follies. So i was placed on the 2nd choice bcp because they didnt have samples of the first choice, nor was I given the option to buy it at the pharmacy.
So I went in last week for a consult on injections where I learned the reason i didnt make any follies was because they scanned me to early. Maybe its my fault becasue I didnt tell them I hadnt had my period yet, but im pretty new to this and didnt know i needed to tell them, nor did they ask. So that was one cycle down the drain.
He ran labs last week and got the results today. My testosterone is through the roof because why you ask. Because they put my on the 2nd choice bcp!! Knowing the other one was better for me. So now I get to change bcp and wait a month to retest my testosterone. So yeah!!!! one more month down the drain.
I think its time for a new dr? Am I jumping the gun and being emotional, or is this a smart move? TYIA for the help.
Re: Soooooo Frustrated!!
Can you clarify this a bit? If you took Clomid on CD5-9, and got AF on CD6, does that mean that you didn't have AF on CD1? Or when you say "I took Clomid on days 5-10" does "days" mean something other than the 5th through 10th days of your cycle, with AF being CD1?
I don't understand any of that. You had a period and then two weeks later, you had another one?
That makes little sense to me. It's universal (as far as everything I've read and been told) that CD1 is day 1 of your period. Clomid is then taken either Cd3-Cd7, Cd4-Cd8 or Cd5-Cd9. Then generally (at a minimum) there is a monitoring u/s on or about CD12 to determine the number of follicles. It's at that point that it's determined when IUI will happen. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
OP: None of your story adds up
That sounds like really bad miscommunication between you and the doctor. CD1 is the first day of red flow. Sounds like the timing was all kinds of messed up if you started on Clomid at some random point in your cycle.
Good luck with the next cycle. If I were you, I'd ask very detailed questions. Maybe even write them down.
I am completely bafffled.
I don't think you need a new doc, but you definitely need to ask for a consult to sit down with them and have them walk you through your specific process and make sure you're all on the same page about when you're to start drugs in relationion to your cycle (not in relation to a pack of BCPs)

While I agree that you should be able to trust your doctor, I also think it's critical to understand the process, the terminology, the treatment, etc. Knowing what "the first day of your cycle/CD1" is should be something you know going into the doctor's office. Have you considered reading a book about human reproduction, like Taking Charge of Your Fertility? I'm just concerned that you'll end up running into these same issues with the next doctor, if you are operating without all of the facts.
