I really don't know how to put this but I'm just flaming right now. I'm an ER nurse and just received a pt who is pregnant with her 7th child and just told me "I'm gonna have to give the 4 oldest to my mom because I can't seem to handle all 6. Imagine me when this one is born. " I totally felt like telling her "I'll gladly take them. All of them." I don't mean to talk bad about anyone and I apologize in advance if I offended anyone , but this woman doesn't take care of herself. She told told me to my face . "I get pregnant so easily but I can't afford an abortion." Why do some women get to have 7 babies and some don't get any. Life is so unfair and I'm a bitter woman right now because of it.

I'm sorry you had to hear this today. It would have made me angry, too. I often wonder why women who can't, or choose not to, take care of their children get to have perfectly healthy pregnancies with perfectly healthy children. I see this often as a teacher. I want to shake parents sometimes, wake them up so that they can see how lucky they are to have what they do. I would never wish the pain that we have felt on anyone, but I wish that there was a way that they could have the kind of appreciation for their children that they do. Hugs!

That's just ridiculous!!! It's one thing if you want a large family and can take care of them, it's another completely to be like this woman! She has to give her oldest kids to her mom to watch?! Those poor children, being handed off to someone else just because mom can't seem to stop getting pregnant. This really pisses me off! Seriously. And because she can't AFFORD an abortion. Those poor children being created because she can't stop and buy some condoms before screwing around. Sorry but this is a really touchy subject for me (I come from a large family and my parents were sometimes criticized- but we were all very much wanted, taken care of, and loved) I am so sorry you had to hear that today. I think I would have gone off on her. Good job keeping your composure. (((HUGS)))

I'm sorry you had to see her today. I'm getting to a point where I'm feeling anger sometimes instead of just sadness. I'm a counselor, and I know it will pop up with my clients whom I'm there to help. It will be hard. hugs

I find myself having very little tolerance for people lately and that is one of the reasons why I am not going back to work until Sept. I'm a preschool teacher and a parent educator (where I go into their homes) and it is not unusual for me to be working with mothers who don't know who the father of their baby might be, or how they will get the diapers and formula they need, so right now I need to take some space from that and focus on trying to take care of myself and my family.

Don't be hard on yourself for being bitter, it it totally understandable why we all are bitter at times.
