Ever had to bring LO to your Dr. appt?

I have an unexpected doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. It's with my OBGYN and I have to have a breast exam for suspected thrush. I'm not sure that I can find someone on short notice to watch DD for me during my appointment. Do you think it's okay if I bring her with me?

  • I took her with me to my 6 week pp appt.  I would imagine it wouldn't be an issue to take her with you tomorrow.

  • I took her to my annual exam this year when she was about 8 months and she just hung out in her car seat and chatted with the dr. she did fine, just brought a toy to keep herself entertained...

My OB actually liked seeing her since she was the dr. during pregnancy!

  • I brought LO to every OBGYN appt while I was on maternity leave.  There are always babies at my OBGYN's office.  I do not see why this would be an issue at all as long as you can keep LO quiet and distracted with a bottle or a toy.

  • I have taken DD to several appts and everyone always loves her. When I have gone without her they've said "bring her! We love babies!" I had to take her to a gallstone ultrasound since I had no one to watch her and they were very accommodating.

  • Yep.

I did last appt, and I will being her again to tomorrows appt. I just put her in the umbrella stroller, and bring some toys and cherrios along.

  • I have taken mine with me. I just put her in the umbrella stroller since it fits easily into exam rooms and keeps me from having to carry her.

  • Yep. When pregnant with DS I had to bring DD with me a couple times. It was no big deal. Brought my iPod with some kids apps on it and some snacks. I had to bring DS to a couple of my PP visits too and he just sat in his car seat.

  • DS comes with me to every doctor appointment.  He's always in his carseat or stroller and just hangs out and watches everything that goes on.  THey've never had a problem with it.

  • I've taken DS to appointments with me.  The only time a dr was annoyed was the dermotologist who primarily sees geriatric patients.  I think it's her fault for being a grump.

I always have to take LO with me to appts.  The OB office nurses love seeing her!  I am sure it will be fine.

I had an appt with one of my drs today and brought both kids with me.   No one even batted an eye.   A was in the stroller and D had one of his Leapfrog computer things and books.   Plus we had lots of snacks.

  • I think it depends on the Dr.  My OB/GYN LOVES kids, (they are kind of upset when I don't bring them!).  if you do bring her I'd say bring stuff to entertain, and snacks, hopefully you wont be there too long!
