How big is your LO?

Happy Birthday April babies! (And our outliers too!)

Genevieve had her 12 month check up last week, and I am wondering about everyone else's LO.

G was 29.25" long (57%) and 20 lbs 5 oz.(36%).  She has dropped to lower percentiles again along the growth curve.  Her NP says she looks healthy and is hitting all her milestones, so she's not worried about it right now.  If she drops again at her 18 month check then she will do a bigger work-up.  I'm a little concerned because she is not a huge eater, but she is making progress (eating more times during the day) all the time.

So, what's up with your LO?

Re: How big is your LO?

  • DS had his appointment  a week ago and was 30 inches and 22 lbs 8oz.  Pretty much where he has been all along 50th percentile ish.

We had her one-year today (boo to shots, poor baby).

25 lbs 2 ounces and 30 1/4 inches. She's consistently been in the 95th percentile since her one month appointment.

If your doc isn't worried, try not to be on your end. It sound like your LO is doing just fine. DD isn't a huge eater either, and she's huge. They just are how they are, and unless there's something else that's triggering an alarm for the pedi, it's hard to compare kids.

Yeah, I'm not too worried.  It's not so much about her actual size as that she has dropped from the 75th percentile to the 36th between her 6 month check up and now. On the plus size, we have gotten a lot of use out of her 6-9 clothes.  We just started putting her in 9-12 sizes even though we use cloth diapers!

  • Hello! Julianna went to the doctor last week.  She is 24.5lbs and 31 inches, she has consistently been in the 95th percentile.  She is a big eater but i have noticed she has been a little more interested in crawling/walking around these days.

S is 17.4 lbs and 27.5". So hovering around 15%. Her pedi says she looks great and is pleased. She has always been around 15%

  • DD is 21 lbs and I honestly can't remember what doc said about her length. Doc says she looks good!

  • I think that Harper was 30 inches and 19 lbs 7 oz, and Tannah was 30.5 inches and 20 lbs 4 oz.  My girls have moved around a little in the percentiles, and my pedi has never been too concerned.  I also think that it's common for them to drop in weight percentiles as they become more active.  Probably best to keep an eye on it, but it sounds normal to me.
  • As of 4/4:

    Amelia - 19lbs 10 oz. (30th percentile), 28.75" (45th percentile)

    Owen - 19lbs 7 oz. (10th percentile), 29.75" (50th percentile)

  • He just had his 1 year appointment on Thursday. He was 29 inches and a few ounces shy of 18 lbs. He is super-super active, and not only walks, but RUNS if you make a noise (like RAWR) and chase him :-) Since he's so tiny, it freaks people out that he's such a good walker already.

  • DS was 20 lbs  9oz and 32 inches. It's the 19% for weight and was down from the  9month check. Our pedi said not to worry. When they get more active they tend to lose weight. We have an appt for 18 months and we will check then.
  • DD was 21lbs 1oz (50%) and 31 inches long (95%) today at her appt.

  • DD went last night for her 1 yr. check-up.

She is 27 3/4 in. long and weighs 18 lb. (EBF) She is 6% for height and 20% for weight. My oldest daughter is also a tiny thing, but she was a preemie. I am used to having little girls. :)

  • At his 1 year appt he was 22lbs 8oz (46th %tile) and 30.5 inches (66th%tile).  His weight went up a little from 9 months. His doctor said he's perfect so I'm happy with his size.

  • 21 lbs. 14 oz. (65%) and 30.5 inches (89%).

She's moved up some in weight, but her height-to-weight ratio was right on at 50%, so the doc was pleased with that.
  • so i guess im the only one with the future basketball star huh? ha ha matt is 32.5 inches (99%) and 23lbs (56%). dr is very pleased as his motor skills and vocab etc have him on level with an 18mo old vs 12mo. unfortunately his temper tantrums are there as well. oy

  • Jack was 31 1/2 inches long and 25 lbs.  His head was in the 97% which is why getting shirts on him is so much fun!

I think he is 94% for height and 70% for weight.  He has started to move down slightly in precentiles but the pedi is not concerned and neither am I.

  • DD weighed in just under 20lbs at her 1 year check up.
  • My son is tiny.  He is 16 lbs 13 oz.  He is under the 3rd percentile and the doctors are concerned.  We are having him worked up.
