The last two post didn't get many responses so does anyone still want to do this?

I'm leaning towards Central Park and the Central Park zoo because I'm comfortable navigating from the amtrak station to Central Park and then to the East Village where I'll stay the night.

I know Cymru had suggested the Bronx zoo so that is still an option too.

No one else has voiced an opinion so I guess I'm wondering if anyone still wants to meet up? If not then maybe everyone will just crash the CT/2brides gtg in Philly

I'm getting a sense from posts and from IRL conversations with people that this weekend might not be the best for people after-all.  It appears that travel costs are more than expected and "life" has happened throwing new things in the mix.

So shall we cancel and try this again another day?

I'm ok either way.  My sister may be coming to visit which makes it a little complicated, but I warned her that I might have this.  So I'm up for something if others are, but won't be crushed if there is no enthusiasm.

I havent confirmed either way b/c I've been debating with myself about bringing two toddlers into the city by myself (since DW and Sprout can't make it).  I think it would probably be too daunting for me but dont want to sway the decision either way.

I was going to try to get up there for the day on Saturday, but wasn't definite, so I'll go with whatever everyone else decides.

I can't make it, but that shouldn't sway the group. I of course want to meet up, but have a delayed Passover to attend. Let me know what you decide and maybe we can catch the next one.

Once we really started to lay it all out this weekend, the travel costs were quite a bit more than we expected (we're not used to having to pay for the kids yet! they should be lap babies till 3!). Which is definitely not a dealbreaker, but makes it a trip I'd rather take when we can stay a couple of days (which we couldn't this time). All that said, I was/am SUPER excited to meet all the folks who were planning to attend, so if we decide to not do it this weekend pretty pretty please let's reschedule for some time soon!

(Also, can someone remind me when Philly is? I have a vague recollection that we couldn't make it for some reason, but I don't remember the particulars.)

Not crashing at all! I just couldn't make it to NYC and CT couldn't come with her entire gang, so we decided to do Philly again since it went so well the last time! Everyone is welcome to come and join us! Details will come out next month!

I think Mrs_F was the one who tipped the scale to NYC instead of Philly in the first place.  So with her out, CT out, N2A and TWB out, Meegs a maybe, this thing is shrinking.  And I'm not getting the sense anyone is excited.  So shall we just opt not to do this one and instead crash the 2brides/CT gtg in June?

Sure! If your Sunday plans don't firm up and you feel like taking a drive you're welcome to head this way. K will likely be prepping for her dissertation defense (next Tuesday) so the Jelly Bean will be out looking for stuff to do.
