Trying to Get Pregnant

Yeast infection question

I think I have my first ever yeast infection really really sticky white discharge since Thursday and bad itching and some burning.  Today I had some light pink/ brown spotting in my underwear after the gym.  Then tonight had the lightest pink spotting in my underwear again.  Very very light.  But there's nothing really when I wipe.  Is pink discharge common with yeast infections?  I'm of course getting my hopes up that it's implantation bleeding but I know that IB is not a likely occurrence for many.  Any experiences/thoughts are appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: Yeast infection question

  • Forgot to add I am going to the dr tomorrow for the yeast infection.

  • Have you noticed a yucky odor (like a fishy smell)?  If yes, then it's likely bacterial vaginosis, but even if it doesn't have much of an odor, it still could be BV.  BV is a bacterial infection that can be treated with suppository and/or oral antibiotics.  I've had it a couple times before.  It's caused by an imbalance of pH in your vagina.  The imbalance then allows bacteria to grow at a higher rate than normal.  BV also can cause some bleeding and discoloration of discharge, whereas I believe yest infections tend to be a whitish or off whitish color.  Anyway, your doc should be able to tell which one you have.  Either way, both yeast infections and BV blow.  Hope you feel better soon!

  • There is no odor but good pt about BV.  I guess dr can tell me tomorrow hopefully.  I guess I was convinced it was yeast infection by all the white discharge the last few days and now the pink spotting today threw me for a loop.  Thanks :)
  • I've only had one yeast infection in my life.  There was no odor or bleeding.  All I remember is the itching.  It was awful!  OTC yeast treatment took care of it quickly.

  • I think it's a good idea that you're going to the doc. Both types of infections can manifest themselves a bit differently in everyone.

Infections in that area are just uncomfortable. I hope you get some relief soon.
