Due date and sick

So yesterday I was just feeling off.  I was feeling nauseous all day and just not quite myself.  During the night I developed a low grade fever and am still sick.  I was hoping I was in labor and not sick!  Now I hope labor will hold off a bit until I feel normal again!  I thought I felt miserable before trying to roll over in bed.  Add in the aches and pains of a fever and I might as well invest in a crane!

I've heard that sometimes flu like symptoms are a precursor to labor.... Even the low grade fever.

You should call your OB or L&D....fever is a "go straight to L&D" thing on my list. My cousin ended up needing some seriously high-powered antibiotics to fight off a severe infection while she was in labor. Hopefully this is something minor they can treat and get you feeling better.

I actually ended up with bronchitis in the days before having DD3  - I was put on antibiotics partly because I had the chills so bad one night, though no fever, but still with a deep hacking cough that hurt my sides. During labor, the nurse joked that my coughing helped with pushing her out (same muscles used) although it made it hard to take that third deep breath for pushing   But she arrived safe and sound and healthy.  Definitely call your OB and see what they want you to do, especially since you have a fever.  Good luck!!
