Good evening ladies, I have my post-miscarriage doctor's appointment on Monday. Any suggestions for questions that I should be sure to ask the doctor?
I am one of those people who has a thousand questions for the doctor that I always forget to ask, but I am going to write them all down this time. Since this is my first pregnancy loss, I am not sure of the things that I need to make sure to ask the doc.
Any advice appreciate. Thanks!

Re: Question about post-miscarriage appointment
I made sure to ask the following....
Are you going to keep following my HCG until it goes down to 0?. ( I had one more lab draw after my D&C before it was 0)
When is it safe to resume taking baths and having sex?
How long would you recommend waiting before TTC again?
I made sure to ask about the results of all the lab work/pathology reports that were done along with my D&C.
I also asked advice on what to eat/take to help bring my iron levels back up. ( By the time I had my D&C I had lost alot of blood)
If you are still bleeding, I would ask how long they would expect that to last, and when to call if its been going on too long for them to be comfortable with.
I am sorry for your loss. Good luck with your f/u appointment.
I am assuming you'd want to try again so if this is the case I'd ask what s/he recommends you do to improve your chances of having a successful pregnancy. Also, depending on how long you want to wait, I'd ask if you should continue with the prenatals. I don't think that the Dr. would recommend you do any testing being that it's the first one but I would ask what you should expect as far as your cycle is concerned. I would also ask if the Dr. wants you to chart your cycle and call him with any weird things going on (such as spotting etc.). When I had mine I had weird spotting and I had some blood work done and we found that my body was producing prolactin (produces milk) however no pregnancy. We were able to link it to something else though so it turned out to be nothing but I was charting everything.
I hope this kind of helps you out and good luck.
All of this. Also check with your doc to see if they want to visit you again before giving you the green light to try again. Some doctors will want to check you out and make sure you are all back to normal. Others will just set you free.
