Moby Wrap vs Boba Wrap?

I know the Moby is a popular choice but I am wondering about the Boba Wrap? How are they different? Does it really carry up to 45 lbs? (One part says 35 and the other says 45) Which one do you suggest? TIA!

Re: Moby Wrap vs Boba Wrap?

  • Have you seen the Baby K'Tan? I'm not sure how this board feels about it, but after watching a YouTube video the other day comparing the two, I am in love with the K'Tan

  • The Boba is stretchier because it contains spandex. I've heard that some people prefer that for their newborns, but I honestly don't know from experience.

  • the moby and boba are basically the same thing, except the boba is stretchier. some people like this and some don't. personally, i found wrapping a hassle so we got the baby k'tan and we love. it's like a wrap, but much easier to use.
  • Hey lady :)
So I own both the Moby and the Boba Wrap. Ive had my Moby for 5 years now and had the boba wrap prior to their name change (aka the sleepy wrap)  for the same amount of time.

The Boba by far has the Moby beat. While the Moby holds a special place to me, since it was my 1st wrap purchase, I pick the boba over that every single time.

The fabric is much nicer. It has a really soft buttery feely, while the Moby feels like a cheap jersey.

The Boba also holds it shape better than the Moby for longer wearing.

Heres the thing though, both are stretchy wraps, so both at some point will not be able to be worn for longer periods of time with HEAVIER babies. Im talking like over 25 lbs or so. It will require you to rewrap or tighten it as you wear, because with the weight of the baby it will sag some - but it doesnt loose its shape nearly as fast as a moby wrap would.

Honestly what Id suggest since summer is around the bend, if you love the idea of a wrap- buy the boba - use it as long as you can, and then once summer hits get the Boba 3G! aweeesomeee ness :) - that thing can fit newborns now too. And it may breathe a little better with the summer heat coming. Although nothing will feel quiet as snuggly as their wraps - love that feeling.

Hope that help! msg me if you need any tips on wrapping the wraps once you buy one. My biggest tip to moms is to tie that sucker on tight!! it should look as if baby wont even fit once its all on and ready to go :) - slip baby in and it just molds to her.

    :)
