Ava has 2 pairs and we love them! The problem is they have started to stink and so do her feet! Ugh. She has to wear close toed shoes to daycare and these are perfect because she can take them on and off by herself. I don't want her to be stinky!! Haha. I don't know if maybe I should try odor eaters or something. Any ideas?

Re: Do your kids wear Toms?
The O'Baby Blog
I was going to suggest that going sock-less might create more stink than wearing socks would. Also, they're just canvas, right? Could you toss them in the wash?
This is from the TOMS website (FAQ section):
We highly recommend hand washing TOMS in cold water with a gentle detergent and let them air dry. We do NOT recommend putting TOMS in the dryer under any circumstances. Please note that fading can be expected (especially from sun exposure) and does not compromise the durability of the shoe.
One pair is just canvas but the other pair (the one that stinks the most)is glittery and tons of glitter us already falling off. I doubt I could wash them.
If you do not have her wear socks with them, they will stink. I would try sprinkling a little baby powder in them - or if you don't have any - I think they make a shoe powder to eliminate odor.
DD doesn't have any TOMS (yet. I bought her Sperry's instead, but will get TOMS when she outgrows those). Anyway, my sister has a couple of pairs of the canvas ones and she has ranky feet so she just washes them in the washing machine and lets them airdry. Sometimes she puts powder in them.
FWIW I have found that the easiest daycare shoes are Crocs...sooo low maintenence.
any cloth shoe worn without socks is going to stink. Just hand wash them and let the air dry.
