pain urinating after d&c?

Has anyone else experienced this?  I had my d&c yesterday and have had sharp, burning pain when urinating ever since.  I told the RN at the hospital and she said to call my OB if it didn't improve after a few days. They also gave me Lortab, but that didn't help.  Anyone else?

Honestly it could be a UTI. I remember getting a UTI about 2 weeks after my first D&C. I've heard a few others say the same thing shortly after a D&C.

You can buy UTI test kits at most drug stores. You just pee on a stick and if it changes a certain color it means its a UTI and then you should call your doctor and let them know. They'll definitely want to give you antibiotics and they might want to see you.

 I am sorry for your loss. After I had my son, and after my D&C, I would always burn really bad right after I would pee. I chalked it up to cervix pain. I at first thought it was a UTI but I never had any other UTI symptoms and after a week or so it started getting less and less painful. Especially after my D&C, I had a lot of cervix "discomfort". It would hurt soo bad after I pee'd that it would bring me to tears. Thank goodness it only hurt that bad for a day or two before it started to get better. If you think it might be a UTI, try the AZO pills. They are over the counter and they help numb things so if it is a UTI, its not as painful.

I had a lot of discomfort immediately following my d&c from the bladder catheter.  In fact, I had more pain from that than from the d&c itself.  You could have a very irritated urethra.  I'd definitely call if it doesn't feel better in the morning.  The last thing you want is a UTI.  I'm sorry you're hurting.  Hugs.

I had some burning for two or three urinations after each procedure.  The nurses always gave me a heads up that it was from the soap they use when they did the straight-cath to empty the bladder during the d&c.
