In labor and terrified of peeing ...

We just got sent home from the hospital since after walking around for an hour I was still only dilated one cm (come on, baby!). Kind of frustrating, but it was nice to be able to get in the shower at home.

I think  the baby's head must be pushing on my urethrea, though, because it hurts like HECK to pee--which I found out accidentally in the shower. (Sorry, tmi ...) I know I need to empty my bladder but I'm terrified of trying to go. Ugh.

Anyway, that's my vent for the time being.

Re: In labor and terrified of peeing ...

  • Can you pee in the tub? Maybe leaning back and being in warm water could help.

I couldn't pee when I was in intense labor, either. I could barf and poo, but not pee. =/

  • Try and figure out something because holding your pee can cause labor to not progress or stop it. Good luck!!!

  • baby's head has been crimping my urethra for weeks. OB suggested this and it's working (for the most part) for me: lean forward as far as you can and lift your belly at the same time. It's not 100%, but it's helped me survive the last few weeks:) GL!
