Trouble TTC

Trigger

Anyone have some great youtube trigger videos they want to share? I've looked at a few on how to mix them but there are not a lot out there on where to give them. I know it needs to go in the muscle but I'm still having a hard time figuring out exactly where it needs to go. I need visual help!

  • Thanks! I think butt would be the best spot. The videos keep talking about making sure you don't get blood because then you've hit a vein :s

  • I never found a good video, but my RE's office gave me a visual/diagram to show where. They told me and the diagram shows that you should picture or draw a line that goes horizontally across at the start of your butt crack.  Then another line, vertically, that divides one of your butt cheeks in half. You should have four quadrants and you inject in the top quadrant closest to your hip, so if you do this on your right cheek it is the upper right quiadrant and if you do your left cheek it is the upper left quadrant.

I tried to find a video that describes it better, but I didn't. I don't know if this helped you any. Good luck.

My injection class teacher said that if you pull back and there is blood that you can still inject, it is just that you will have a bruise afterwards or you can just change the tip of the needle and try again.

Oh really. If I did inject and get blood I don't think I could inject again so that's good.

Is it possible that you could call your RE's office in the morning tomorrow to verify location of shot and if there is blood in the needle? This may give you a little piece of mind.

The needle is definitely intimidating, but it is not bad at all. I remember being scared out of my mind because of its size and didn't feel a thing.

  • The video that DH watched before giving me the trigger shot instructed him to administer the shot in a dart-like motion.  He took that too literally and stabbed the sh!t out of me...I had a huge bruise.  Moral of the story - it is not a dart nor should you pretend that it is :)

Lol! DH said he's gotten an epi pen stabbed in me a couple of times. I told him there will be no stabbing of the needles.
