suggestions

A good friend of ours has to take one of her twin boys in for heart surgery and I am trying to figure out  what we can do to help her. I have told her she can call any time cry, laugh be hysterical or just hang up or *** me out at any time if it makes her feel better.  I know she is strong as she spent 3 month with her twins in the nicu they were very early and their delivery was very unexpected. One of them has a hear issue and he has to have surgery ( not related to being a micro preemie or twin) anyhow- i wish i could fly out and spend time with her They lived in NV but now in TX  but we just cant afford that and quite honestly I dunno what has changed but things are pretty tight here (I BLAME FORMULA) no i have no idea.

SO i am asking for suggestions on what i can do -

I plan to send a card and then I was thinking about a edible arrangement but sadly eveything i can send in the price range i can do seems small and insignificant - and then i was thinking should I wait till after surgery ..

so if you had a child that was 4 mo old having surgery what would make you feel better from a friend who is far away  I just wanna hug her!

Can you maybe send restaurant gift cards so she doesn't have to cook? Most places you can call ahead and pick up an order to go.

This is my exact thought! It would probably be most helpful for her right now.

  • I would figure out what restaurants are near the hospital that deliver and get cards for there.  If she will have an extended time in the hospital I would send a card everyday to the hospital.  I would also send a package of snacks, magazines (she won't have the concentration to read real books), really nice hand cream ( all the hand washing will dry her hands out, a really soft throw blanket ( I was always freezing in the hospital.  In the icy she will not be able to edt in the room so high protein filling snacks will be good whe she only has a second to grab a bite.  Chap stick would be nice as well.
