Hi Yes! They started the steroids the same day I asked about them on here, and they have been working wonders! The plan was to try him on the hydrocortisone for 48 hours and if it worked just keep him going on that but wean gradually. If it didn't work, they would switch to decadron tomorrow. It's been 48 hours and the hydrocortisone has been amazing. He's been able to wean back so much on his oxygen settings and he's satting really well. He was even at room air overnight last night! They are hoping to be able to switch him off the oscillator tomorrow! And his kidney function has been improving a ton...they've been able to hold off on giving him the bumex, and they are talking about cutting back on the lasix drip. I'm so thankful that we tried the steroids because the REALLY seem to be helping in amazing ways. Thanks so much for asking!
