What size rug is in your nursery?

I'm looking at an Ikea rug that is 6.5 x 4.5. Do you think it would be too small for a room that is 10 x 11?

  • Do you just want it for in front of the crib as part of the decor? If so, I think it's fine.

Our room is a bit bigger and I'm getting an 8x10 rug. We don't have carpet in her room, though (wood floors) so I want a nice, big rug.

  • DD's room is pretty small...and we didn't want the rug to end up UNDER any furniture (then whatever is on it may not be completely on it).  We got this rug from Ikea the price could not be beat, it already has the non-skid backing, and is technically washable. Plus bright green is a major feature of DD's room.

You can see in this pic (from July 2010...before DD was born) that the rug works in the middle of the room.

  • If centered, a rug that is 7x5 in a 10x11 room would leave about 2ft uncovered around the edge of the room.  In our 10x10 room, that would probably be perfect since nothing would be sitting on top of the rug (except for an edge of the chair in the corner).
