Getting your membrane stripped...

I am 38 weeks today and my doctor stripped my membrane.  She said was almost 2cm dialated and soft.  I have been having contractions every day for the past 2 weeks, but nothing consistent.  Some are bad and the rest, not so much.  I was wondering if anyone had theirs stripped and if it helped with getting labor going?

I got mine stripped yesterday. I am 2 cm and 50%. I had tons of cramping all night and then this morning nothing : ( I thought it was going to help, but it didn't do much. I hope it works for you. Gl!

I am going to ask about having mine stripped today. I'm not sure if my doctor even does them...

I had mine stripped on Wed morning..caused tons of cramping a maroonish spotting for two days.  Had contractions- some painful others not so much.  It has been 48 hours and I am not experiencing any hard contractions today.  I am super bummed it did not work for me.  I am 41 wks and 2 days.  Been 2cm dialated for over a month.

I got mine done Monday after 3 weeks of being 2cm, 80% and station 0. Here it is Friday and no help for me. I think your body has to already be ready for labor, just like the other natual induction methods (eating pineapple, walking, sex...etc.). So if your body isn't ready yet, nothing will help push it along. My induction even failed with pitocin. Don't get discouraged if it doesn't help. Just understand your body and baby is not ready yet.

ETA: even after the membranes and pitocin, I am still 2cm, 80% and station 0.

I had mine stripped on Tuesday, cramping and contractions all day and night. In the morning they were gone. Hopefully I made some progress, they were pretty painful. Hope it works for you!

I was 3 cm and 80% when I got mine stripped. labor started 3 hours later, and water broke 12 hours after that. good luck!
