I've taken Provera once to jump start my period. I only took one pill and got my period the next day. I'm thinking that happened because I was already well into a long cycle. Today is CD61 and I was told yesterday I can start Provera again and get going with IVF#1.
Has anyone ever taken Provera this late in your cycle? I'm trying to decide when I should start it and somewhat time my period because we are going through state testing in 8 school days and my principal will not let me out either of those days. I know this is a completely irrational fear, but I'm afraid if I start it now, my CD3 workup will fall on one of the testing dates, but I'm also afraid if I wait until late next week or even the day of testing, my period will hold off for three weeks.
Sorry for the rambling....just need to think outloud!

Re: Long cycles and Provera
Oh yeah! As a matter-of-fact, the earliest I've taken Provera was around CD 65. I've waited all the way up to 100+ days a couple of times.
I don't think I've ever heard of anyone taking one pill then getting their period the next day. I usually have to take all 10 pills then AF comes 3-4 days after my last pill.
I hate trying to predict the future with provera!! It's driving me batty!
I took 20mg of provera for 5 day and started my period 2 days after the last pill.
This time I took 10mg of provera for 10 days and it's currently the 2nd day after the pills....so far nothing, but its still early!
From my obsessive searching on the bump, it seems like the norm is about 2-4 days after the last provera pill (but of course there are outliers who start their period while they are still on the pills and others who don't start until two weeks later!)
FWIW, last time and this time I was in the CD50s-CD60s range when starting them.
