DD had to start DC this week at 16 mos because our in home babysitter is no longer available. We couldn't find ANY DC that CDs so we have to use sposies and pull ups during the day. We are only using one cloth diaper per night and to me it seems like a huge waste to wash 2 diapers every 2 days.
My question is, did you guys stick with the CD-ing? How often did you wash? I want to continue bc of the absorbency on the CD but I don't know if I should. (Her daycare guarantees that each child will be PTed by 2 years old or else they will pay for all diapering needs, so we will probably only diaper for an extra few mos in general). I also have A12s that I could use but 2 inserts are really bulky for overnight use.
Re: If your DC does not CD, come in
Our DC does not do cloth diapering either. We still CD at home though since she's only in DC a couple days a week, so we still have a lot of other CD laundry the days she's at home.
I would probably stick with it even if she was in DC more often and just wash towels with the CD laundry. Every CD used is one diaper that doesn't sit for 100's of years in a landfill!!

Our daycare does not allow CDs so we just do it at night and on the weekends. We also only use one diaper a night (DS is 11mo). I just wash on Friday night and then Sunday night / Monday morning (start wash and finish after work). We don't have any extra issues with smell from waiting till Friday to wash which makes me happy. So only two loads of laundry a week for us CD wise.
My personal opinion was that I wanted to CD for as often as I could so thats what we do and it works well for us. I'm looking forward to my two week vacation though when a sposie doesn't have to touch my son's bottom the whole time

Now I'm curious about the long story! I won't be putting my son in DC for at least a year, but when I do I'm pretty adament about finding a daycare that will...
Well the daycare lady was all like "sure, why not?" but then didn't follow my 'rules'. She used zinc cream (which we kept in the bag with sposies for rash emergencies). We never use cream other wise, but if she was going to insist, I went out and bought expensive CD safe cream, which she dug into and put gobs on. She didn't like the cloth wipes so we had to send disposable wipes. She complained that they smelled, even in the wetbag, so she bagged every diaper in a plastic bag which defeats the purpose of CDing. The biggest thing was me stressing out about her wrecking my diapers. So we just gave up.

That sucks, but I can ser why you stopped. When I did look at daycares one said they would try and I know I would have been the only CDer there. We decided to modify our schedules so DS won't be in DC right off l, I hope when we do we find someone that isn't difficult about it!
