If you ran during your pregnancy, how long into that pregnancy did you continue running? With my 1st, I was running up until about the halfway mark when it just felt uncomfortable for my belly. With this one, I'm showing a lot sooner than the 1st and I guess I'm just wondering if I will be able to make it until about the same time or not. LOL. I suppose time will tell, and everyone's different, but how is/was it for you? FWIW, I'm only 12 weeks now, thinking ahead.

Re: Runners?
First pregnancy: ran until 41w3d (the day I was induced). When I say "run" I mean that I was doing about 12 minute miles from 40 weeks on so I was very very slow and only able to run 3-4 miles at a time. I did do a 5K race in about 30 minutes at 37 weeks, so I was getting really slow at the end. I was able to run about 5-6 miles until 30 weeks or so, but after that I couldn't go much more than 3-4 without having to stop to go to the bathroom. I had been training for a marathon when I got pregnant and ran it at 8 weeks so I was running a lot leading up to that pregnancy.
This pregnancy, it's been a little bit harder. My last 5-miler was probably a month ago and it was very slow. So I'm losing distance and pace a lot faster. I had a pretty good last week (ran 3-4 every day) and have felt great, but then I ran 3 miles tonight and I had to stop and walk a few times . . . . hopefully I was just tired! My goal is to run up until the day I'm in the hospital (like last time) because it made it a lot easier for me to get back into it. We'll see -- I seriously feel as big as I am now as I was at 41 weeks pregnant with my first so hopefully I can keep it up.
Good luck running!
I will be 32 weeks tomorrow and I am still running. I average about 25-35 miles per week wich includes a weekend long run and have ran 7 races while being pregnant.
It's getting harder the further along I get into my pregnancy. I have to make sure my routes include restrooms since I usually need to pee at least once. My pace now is much, much slower than my pre-pregnancy pace.
I am just happy that I can still run and work out without any issues!

I'm a FTM so all of this is new to me. I'm 22 weeks and will be running Boston on Monday.... as long as the heat isn't too bad. I'm definitely MUCH slower but other than having to make more pit stops I am feeling great. My belly doesn't feel like its weighing me down... as in reality I really don't have that much of a belly, just looks like a bit of pudge.
I hope to keep running as long as I can. I definitely will be scaling back the mileage after the marathon. Probably running 12-20 miles per week opposed to my current 20-35 per week.
I'm also still doing crossfit classes as well, just making modifications where I need to. I do like to take an occassional walk instead of a run if I need something more relaxing. Oh and I've also been taking prenatal yoga which definitely helps me chill out.
Good luck! I was supposed to run Boston but had to back out. I've shed quite a few tears over it too. lol Oh well, just gives me a post-pregnancy goal.

Additional question-
I'm about 9 weeks now and I was running before and up until about 7 weeks. Family came into town and we were REALLY busy. I did a lot of walking and hiking so I didn't think it would be a big deal to miss one week and then pick it up but now I've been sick a WHOLE week (after family)and it doesn't seem to be going away. Just today, i'm able to get around the house without feeling the need to sit and rest but still def not able to run. Anyway, I plan to pick up slowly but I am running a 5K at the end of the month. Do you have any suggestions for "getting re-started"? I'm assuming it's still safe since it hasn't been that long...?
I didn't run or exercise at all during preg#1. So this running and prego thing is new to me! THANKS!
I would think that would be okay, but you may want to ask your doctor. After I ran a marathon when I was 8 weeks pregnant in the fall of 2009, I had this crazy, crazy, painful plantar faciitis and I couldn't run for a few weeks, I could only do the elliptical. I generally take a few days off after a marathon anyway, but this time I was also injured. Anyway, after that, I picked up running again and ran my entire pregnancy. I think short breaks, especially if you have a high base fitness level, are probably fine.
