1st Birthday Party

Our little Beans first birthday party is this Sunday. It went by so fast. It's only Thursday and I've already started decorating for it (only a little bit). We have 60 people coming, all family and close friends (12 are kids 1yr-13 yrs). We just moved into our new home and we haven't really ever entertained much before. Certainly not for 60 people! Here is our menu ideas. Please let me know if this sounds like enough, too much, too little.

Meatballs

dinner rolls

mac n cheese

chicken tenders

marinated veggies

pasta salad

potato salad

fruit salad

chips/dip

veggies/dip

my gram is making some kind of baked good and my husbands aunt is making the cupcakes (no sheet cake)

For drinks: iced teas, sodas, water

that's enough right?

  • This looks great! I may add some juice boxes for the kiddos but all else looks perfect.

I say too much.  We had 50 people (19 kids) and we served two kinds of soup (potato-cheese and chicken noodle), and Costco croissant sandwiches, with popcorn chicken for the kids.  I would omit the rolls, 2 salads and one of the dip selections.  Chix tenders and mac and cheese will be a hit.  I would do away with the meatballs, too.

  • i would actually say not enough.  you need one more entree, i think.  if i don't like meatballs i have no other protein option. (mac and cheese is a starch)  (assuming the chicken tenders are for the kiddies)  could you do a tray of sandwiches from costco or make them yourself?  or even do a simple beef roast, that way people can make sandwiches with teh dinner rolls if they want.
