Provera AF expectations?

I know there are several ladies who are currently taking Provera and some who have taken it in the past.  What did your AF look like after Provera?  (Seriously, I want the details. And I'm not being sarcastic here. Load me up with TMI.)

I took my last Provera yesterday and I'm a little apprehensive about what to expect with AF.  I've been having nasty cramps ALL day long today. So I feel like something it's coming tonight/tomorrow, yes Friday the 13th....which is opening night. Wonderful. So should I pack super tampons and overnight pads or not stress and just throw a few pantiliners in the bag?

Re: Provera AF expectations?

  • My post Provera AF was totally normal. Same flow, no terrible cramps. I don't normally have bad AF symptoms, though. I took Provera at night, which may have helped with side effects. I agree with PP--pack a variety! Good luck!

  • So mine has been pretty miserable. Way more miserable than the other time I used Provera, but I'm thinking that since this is my first AF since the m/c that is probably why too. Cramps have been wicked, wicked, wicked. I have had bad back cramps too. My flow has been heavy, but not to terribly bad. Bleeding through a super tampon about every 4 hours. Yesterday, my first day of AF, I had a GOD awful headache. To the point that I thought my head was going to explode, but I always get a headache on CD1. I was super bitchy and moody too, prior to AF coming, but it has really subsided a lot now. I hope this helps ease your mind a little....haha, as if looking forward to something like this can ease one's mind. I'm still crossing my fingers for you both! ((HUGS)), loves!

  • The time I took provera AF was SUPER HEAVY! It was scary.

Even though AF is coming on her own for me, {and taking her sweet time}, I have a feeling it's going to be heavy and crampy as well. I'm not looking forward to it. I am hoping mine comes soon, so it's not super heavy for when I go back to work.

Still waiting over here, kps. Wicked cramps yesterday and today, though only in the afternoon/evening. Insanely moody and b!tchy all day yesterday. But nothing yet--not even a spot of brown.

In terms of packing your bag, I'd definitely throw in an assortment of options; better safe than sorry, especially backstage!

(And I do have to point out the irony. You're hoping to get AF on Friday the 13th. While stage managing Macbeth. Which is the play in which the word "blood" appears over 40 times. Smile)

Yes, I know! It's just loaded with irony.  Isn't this awful?  I feel like tomorrow is bound to interesting either way.
