washing an infant carseat cover?

I have heard horror stories about it ruining; we have a Graco Sungride (Pippin)  and went gender neutral for the sole purpose of reuising.  Now that #2 is almost here, it is time to get that spruced up, but I am scared to wash it.  We have the model just prior to this one, and I don't see on the internet that it necessarily spells out machine washable the way the newest model does.

I had heard to wash on gentle and air dry, but my sister in law ruined hers when she did that.  Anyone have any luck, tips or knowledge on washing these?  THANKS

  • Check the owners manual. We have a SnugRide 32, and I'm pretty sure it says to machine wash gentle and air dry. I've done that with ours a few times and it's come out perfect.

  • I just washed my Chicco one and it was fine after wash. I did not put it in the dryer, I let it air dry. Look on the tags on the cover too see how to wash that helped me because I didn't have the manual any longer.

  • I washed our Graco Snugride cover and it came out perfect. I too air dried it.

  • I washed mine on the gentle cycle and dried on low heat a few times with no issues.

  • We have washed our snugride cover several times with no problems.  I don't put it in the dryer, though... I just lay it out on the porch to dry.
