I don't drink milk-haven't since I was about 5. But I voted whole.

Currently, I drink almond milk because of his dairy sensitivity.  Normally, I'd drink skim.  I don't know what kind of milk he'll get yet, depends on what happens with the sensitivity.  If we do cow's milk for him, it'd be whole to start out with.

I drink skim. I have for as long as I can remember, and I recall going to a friend's house and she had 2% and I would literally chug it, ha. I won't give DD skim at first, but I am having doubts about doing whole, and have been reading some things that say 2% is okay so I am going to be doing some more research. I'd hate for her to get used to the whole and then refuse to drink skim later in life.

DH and I have drank 1% since we moved in together, We both drank whole as little kids. I think DD will drink whole. Not sure when we'll change her to what we drink though. 

 

MrsMcB- Do you use almond milk in flavorful cereals? I've never had any..I love almonds, but can't imagine what it would taste like as a glass of milk, kwim? (I think I'm over thinking almond milk )

I agree with this. For DH and I it was an easy transition, we literally switched over in '09. When I am at my parents house, they can't believe I drink 1%. They tried it and can't drink it..it's like water to them. They drink 2%.  

I'll have to see what the pedi says too.

Clineak!!! A whaat!! How do you eat brownies?? My brownies/oreos LOVE milk!!

We drink skim!  I think my DH would prefer 1% but until he does the grocery shopping, we get skim.  :-)  LO will not start on skim - either whole milk or almond milk.  I have to do more research.  My friend is doing almond milk with her daughter and gave me some info.  I am unsure as of yet.  She will move to skim milk as soon as the pedi gives the go-ahead (my 2yo niece just switched over).

This exactly.  I prefer the Vanilla flavored almond milk for myself.  Since DS is so small we will definitely start out on whole milk if he switches to cow's milk.

We drink almond milk, I'll give her whole cows milk as long as it's necessary then switch her over to almond milk when she doesn't need all the calories of reg. milk.

we buy 1%. not sure what we will give LO, have not looked into it yet.

Almond.  I don't know what I will give my LO when he turns one.  I have to talk to my pedi about it.
