My daughter will be a year in ten days! Yikes! My husband and I think in a few months we would like to start trying for baby #2 but Im not sure how it will work with me still nursing.. We also bedshare... HELP !!!! Suggestions ? anyone else go thru this?
Re: ready for #2 but still nursing & bedsharing with 12 month old
I bedshared with my oldest until 20 months, which meant that I went through my 2nd pregnancy and beyond with my oldest bedsharing. It worked out fine. We have a king sized bed so we had plenty of room (even with my big belly, but DH and I are thin). I bedshared with both of them for a while with baby between myself and a bedrail and my oldest between DH and myself. Now at 2 and 1, they're in their own room together. You can make the change from bedsharing whenever you want, but you dont have to do it because you're having another baby either.
If you do get pregnant, baby may choose to wean. If that's something you're ok with, I don't see why you couldnt TTC.
GL!
My first two are 13 months and 1 day apart....We bedshared with both...when our second was born we just made room in our bed (a queen)....Then bed shared through my pregnancy with my twins. We transitioned at 2 and 3 years....they now sleep in toddler beds in the own room.
I was nursing my DD when I got pregnant with the twins.....We weaned at 13 weeks pregnant...she was 18 months old...my supply was pretty much down the drain and I was having issues with my own health supporting two babies inside, a toddler nursing and myself...I was the one whos health was going down hill.
we are nursing and bedsharing and i am expecting number 2!!! so i am there with you. But the sad part is that yesterday i put my big mommy pants on and put her in the crib...let her cry and "thud" she flipped out of the crib!!! i was so petrified!!!! poor baby didnt skip a beat but she will be 1 in less than 2 weeks and i dont know what to do. and my husband (not that i dont) loves to have her in the bed to snuggle with. between bedsharing and nursing i dont know which one i am going to struggle more with..
so...for the first time last night we did the crib...i have learned she needs to eat first for sure and get grawgy then lay her down she cried for about 5 maybe 8 minutes wimpering more at the end and then what do you know ASLEEP! not only did she sleep she slept for 8 HOURS!! heaven i must say
she still hates it but i believe consistancy is the key
good luck and wish me luck that it keeps going well ( i need it :S)
