kid hiding at diaper changes, naps and bedtimes?

So I don't know what triggered this to start or if it's just a phase and if there is anything I can do to help nip it in the bud. A little background, my LO has always been good about getting diaper changed.  When you ask him if he is ready for nap or bedtime, he would come take my hand and we walk together to his room, with no fighting, crying, nothing. So about a week ago, when I would ask him if he was ready for nap/bed, he would start laughing, run off and "pretend" to hide.  Then when I approach him, he would laugh and run away.  The little booger is too fast for me sometimes and while I don't run after him cause this would just cause him to think it's a game.  I try to get him to come to me.  It ends up being like a 15-20 minute thing of him running off and hiding and me trying to keep my cool and wrangle him.  When I finally can get him, I now have to pick him up and he throws himself back, arching his back, as if he's gonna have a tantrum. Once I get him to his room, he's fine. But I can't even get him to walk back to his room with me.  Anyone's kiddo done this and if so what have you done to get a little more cooperation.

  • C isnt that bad but he will try to hide behind the couch or under the couch cushions when its bed/nap time. And he cries at diaper changes some of the time. We do the same, pick him up and take him in.
