Has anyone had their RE/nurse tell them they have to use the brand name Estrace instead of estradiol (the generic)? The difference in cost for me would be $450, and my nurse just said--"brand-name only, sorry."
I at least want an explanation for why I would have to pay that much more for the same drug.

Re: Estrace vs. generic estradiol
They submitted mine as brand name only too. Not sure why though. I figured I would ask my office when I go in next wednesday.

April IVF Spring Chicks
Hey, Lynn! I think you feeling bad is why RBA is prescribing brand-name, instead of generic; supposedly less side-effects. Glad your lining is developing well! You'll be doing your cycle in no time!
I am actually in my cycle already; chose our donor last Friday, and started cycling (Lupron suppression) on Sunday! Its been insanely fast, but we wanted to be able to go this quickly. Est. transfer date is May 12th.

That's awesome news! How exciting! I will have to ask for brand name when I do this. It will be well worth the extra money for you!
