Random nervous thought

Is anyone else worried that they are going to get tons of new stuff or get rid of old stuff and then find out that the team that were told is actually not the truth?

This may sound silly but I was sooooo sure it was a boy that, even weeks later, I worried that we are going to get all of this girl stuff and then it actually be a BOY!

Just wondering if I'm alone.....Smile

  • Yes! I just came back from our anatomy scan and even though the tech circled the area on the picture, and I didn't see any indication of a boy during the rest of the scan, she didn't give us any direct indication of how sure she was that we are having a girl...

Now, we've told our families the good news, and everyone is very happy for us, but a big part of me is worrying that she was wrong. I think I just had my hopes up for a girl, and now I think it's too good to be true! I am still too nervous about it to start looking at girl stuff online.

  • YES! We have a million and one things for a boy...and we're having a girl. I'm just starting to get nervous about the rummage I'm having next weekend because what if I sell all of this stuff and we end up having a boy!?!?!

  • I was worried about this from the get go. So I asked the technician what are that chances she comes out a boy? She said unless I have a boy with a vagina my baby is defiantly a girl. That made me feel better, but I'm still nervous she is wrong :-)

  • No - but baby is a very obvious boy to me, DH, the tech, the DR. There was no question.

  • Before my A/S, I was already nervous about the tech being wrong that I had told my DH that I wanted to also have an elective 3D ultrasound just to confirm the gender! At my A/S, however, we definitely saw our son's "goods" multiple times and from different angles, so I'm not too horribly nervous about it now (still a little, though). If you can spare an extra $50-$100, go get an elective u/s to put your mind at ease! (Plus, that gives you another chance to see your LO)  :-)

  • So not to put any accuracy to your nervous thought but this happened to a friend of mine, BUT i must say they did not get a clear gender shot in the first place:) She was told it's a boy and got all boy stuff at her shower ect... well at her final u/s about 2-3 weeks before she delivered the tech said oh she's big and my friend said its a boy and the tech said no no its def. a little girl! she had to go return all the blue and boy stuff and get all girl stuff! I am also nervous that this will happen b/c my a/s is tomm!

  • This happened to a high school student of mine. I don't remember which way it was though. We have a boy name (its a family name that we discussed from the get-go) and I plan on only cutting tags from and washing white onesies and a couple "pink" outfits before LO arrives. I'm not going all out on a nursery either, just a crib sheet, skirt, and changing pad will be "girl". And probably some washcloths, towels, and burp clothes :) Nothing major that can't be changed! Everything else I register for/purchase will be gender neutral anyway.
