We love love love the Baby Cache Heritage, and we decided that we want to get it in the new color offered - espresso. This is supposed to be a lifetime crib, but we can't find any of the additional special order components (toddler rail, conversion kit) at BRU. Is anyone else having this problem?
Re: Baby Cache Heritage - Espresso
Sorry, I'm jumping in here with another question (don't know about the rails). I bought the Baby Cache crib and dresser in espresso and while I love the look of both, unfortunately the bottom drawer of the dresser keeps getting stuck. I contacted the company and they were more than happy to send me replacement hardware and a new drawer. Unfortunately, that didn't work so looks like I need a whole new dresser. What concerns me is that the drawer they sent, does not match my dresser. Even though both are supposed to be espresso. So can you look at my picture and tell me what your espresso looks like? Does it look like my dresser color or more like the black drawer (that was their replacement). I'm worried my new dresser won't match my crib.
TIA
(Here's hoping my picture works, I've never inserted one before)
Good to know, at least you know why! My husband and I have a wood bedframe, and it just seems so much less sturdy than a steel one! So for my kids, I'll get the steel/metal one. Plus it's usually less expensive!
TIA, your dresser definitely looks cherry, I have the darker espresso dresser and your replacement drawer matches mine. You mentioned that your drawer gets stuck, mine makes a weird spring noise. How did you get the drawer out?
As for the rails BRU recommended the metal frame as well.
Thanks ladies. I don't know how I ended up with a cherry set. At BRU they only offered it in espresso, white, or chestnut, so we ordered it in Espresso. It even says Espresso on our receipt! I do love the color they gave me, which according to you all is actually cherry! So I hope they're able to give me a new cherry dresser. They were very quick to respond to my emails about the drawer issue, but since I sent them a picture expressing my concern about the color difference, I haven't heard anything back. (I think they're probably wondering how that happened too!)
Prettysparkle-I just had to pull the drawer up and out with a little force to get to come out. It won't slide straight out or in easily like the other drawers do. If the spring noise bothers you, send them an email about it. They sent me replacement parts within a week for my drawer, it just unfortunately didn't work.
Hi,
I dont know how old this posting is, but you should have told Babies R Us the first time about your dresser. I used to work for the company, and was the furniture manager for a while. Babies R Us would have given you a whole new dresser, no questions asked. You also don't have the heritage, you have the essentials collection. Depending on how long its been, you might still be able to get a new dresser.
Hi! I'm commenting on the problem with the "spring noise" we just received our furniture and are having the same exact problem with 1 of the draws. When you push the draw back in there is a really annoying spring noise right before it closes. How can we take care of this problem? Babies R Us said they could replace the whole dresser for us and that they dont have repair men who can come to our house and look at it. That seems like way too much of a hassle at this point that im over 8 months pregnant! Any advice?
Thanks!
yes, i have pictures available if anyone wants, please just send me a email at jason.suiter@gmail.com . i came across this listing searching google to help out some others. we purchased the montana in driftwood for our son due Jan. 2013. we also had the spring popping noise. there is a very easy fix. note which drawer and side of it is making the noise. pull drawer out, remove the single screw on each under side, lift drawer out. while metal drawer arms are extended, you will see a pin that sicks down half way down the arm. file that down with a metal file ($10 from local hardware tsore). you can then push and pull arm to see if it continues to make the noise. what you are actually doing is bypassing the spring mechanism completely.
you dont have to actually remove the drawer at all unless you want to see whats going on back there causing the noise. you can easily access the pin sticking down off the metal arm while drawer is open. Hope this helps everyone having this problem.
