When I was first pregnant, we had a name almost 100% decided. Now, I find myself unable to commit to that name, but I can't tell whether it's because of the psychology of not wanting to go with the first thing we both liked, or whether it's really NOT "the one." How do I sort out my feelings on this? I feel more confused than ever.

It's probably just the gravity of the situation settling in.
I think it's analogous to some brides and their quest to find the "perfect" dress and consequently the typical tearful reaction.
Whatever name you pick will be "the one."
Who knows your baby better than you?
This exactly. There are tons and tons of names out there, and you're going to love many of them. But only one can be your child's name, and at the end of the day, you just commit to it. If it helps at all, we chose DD's name at like....week 34, but didn't commit to it until she was born. And I still love it and think it's perfect for her.
Out of curiosity---what's the name?

I went through the same thing with our girl's name. We were team green with my DS and it was pretty easy for us to agree names. DH would still be happy to use the girl name for this baby, but I am having second thoughts since we didn't spend a lot of time looking around at other names.
So right now we are really focusing hard on picking another girl's name. Since (like you) I'm roughly halfway through the pregnancy, I figure if we pick out another option now, we can live with it for a little while before the baby comes. If it doesn't feel right in a few months, we can always go back to our original option. There's no harm in doing a little more searching.
