7wks post mc with SEVERE cramping, no bleeding?

Hi ladies. Forgive me if I do not know all the lingo here. It's been several years since being active on the nest or the bump, but wanted to see if anyone had experienced what I'm experiencing now.

We had a missed miscarriage when we went in for our 15 week appointment on February 14. Baby was at least 12 weeks when s/he passed. Had a natural miscarriage 2 days later with severe cramping, bleeding, and passage of more clots than I could count. All of this happened in a 2 hours span. Had an ultrasound that afternoon that confirmed passage of the gestational sac.

Bled like a period for about 2 weeks and then have been "spotting" ever since. Still haven't had a real period yet. Followed up with the OBGYN almost 2 weeks ago; he did an ultrasound and confirmed that I still had a thick lining with lots of clots left inside. Gave me the option of waiting it out or having a D&C. My D&C is scheduled for Monday.

However, last night I began cramping something fierce for several hours. I'm talking doubled over, crying in pain. I was sure I was about to start my first period, but no bleeding ever occurred. This morning the cramping from last night had left me unable to even stand up straight or sit without being in severe pain. It was as if I'd just done 2000 situps and was suffering the consequences.

I called the doctor's office today, but of course they never returned my call. My hunch is that my period is just around the corner, but who knows. After almost 8 weeks of waiting and spotting, I feel like this may never end!

 Has anyone ever experienced this or anything similar?

I had a missed mc that was discovered on Feb 9th. On the 14th I took cytotec, bleed with lots of clots for a few hours and thought it was all over. Two days later, i was in the shower and started gushing blood. Ended up in the ER where i passed the baby. Two weeks afterwards I made another appointment because i was still hurting soo bad but not bleeding anymore. He told me I had a bladder infection and sent me home. I had a follow up U/S a week after that ( i had to beg because i just knew something was not right ) and it showed i still had a thick lining with lots of stuff still in my uterus. It was making me sore and cramp soo bad. I finally had a D&C on March 6th. I had a piece of retained placenta that was causing me to still cramp and hurt. Having the D&C was immediate relief from all the soreness and severe pain. I felt the same way you did, feeling like it would never end. I am soo sorry that you have to go through this all. Its like adding insult to injury that sometimes it drags on and on and on....  But hopefully after your D&C you will have a swift recovery and be able to move on physically. Hang in there. Could  you possibly be ovulating?  Your cramping sounds severe, if it isn't normal for you, maybe call the evening number for your doctor's office.

The nurse from the OB office just called a few minutes ago. I am scheduled to go in for yet another US tomorrow. She said things might have changed since 2 weeks ago and I may not need the D&C now (??). I'm not sure how that fits together with my case, however. Hoping the doc can shed some light tomorrow. Thanks girls.

I had severe cramps followed by heavy bleeding (filling a pad in about 3 seconds) then passing lots of clots.  Turns out I still had tissue that they missed during my previous 2 d&c procedures.   I went to the ER and they discovered the tissue with an u/s so I had another d&c with ultrasound guidance.  Please seek medical attention if you start to bleed heavily.

FINALLY started my period late last night on my own. WOOHOO! I've never been so excited to see AF in my life! All day my uterus felt so heavy (not sure how else to describe that) and the Dr. said it was very inflammed upon examination. I could have told him that. It hurt just to walk on concrete, sit in a hard chair, or heaven forbid cough or sneeze! The bleeding was extremely heavy for about 2 hours and then slowed to nearly nothing. I've decided to still take the methergine to help my uterus clamp down and get everything out. Thanks for the support, ladies. Praying I'm on the road to recovery now!
