I am concerned because my 19 month old doesn't want to play with me. I get out puzzles, blocks, books to engage her, and she just has no interest. She just wants to do her own thing. I get so bored, since I feel like she doesn't need me. It also makes me rather sad when I read so many posts about others playing with their children. What am I doing wrong? Help!
Re: My toddler doesn't want to play with me
DD is very independent and will play for hours on her own. She does enjoy when we play with her and she loves having friends over, but she's just as happy on her own too. I think it's great - it really helps that when I'm taking care of DS she can entertain herself.
As long as she talks to you, makes good eye contact, gives hugs, etc. I wouldn't worry about it. Sounds like she's just an independent girl!
