MIL has recently gotten into saying "my baby" (I know, most of you dealt with this a while ago). I try to just let it slide although I do get a little annoyed, but the other day she said it as soon as we walked in the door and all the other family present at Easter dinner gave her a weird look and commented on how it was strange of her to call DD her baby.... I didn't have to say a thing (smiling inside).
For those of you that were bothered by this months ago, did you resolve it? Are you still gritting your teeth?
Re: "my baby".... still?
It really doesn't bother me that much. I would say something if it did. I just appreciated other people mentioning it.
Willow's great grandpa likes to call her "Willy" which does bother me.
I might be the odd man out but for some reason this kind of stuff has never bothered me. Maybe it's because we all waited so long for me to get pregnant--I am just happy DS is so loved by everyone.
On Easter my cousin offered to babysit any time and said "I wouldn't mind being his mommy for a day." Even that didn't bother me but my aunt jumped right on it.
But maybe if you don't acknowledge her, she will stop. GL!!

I agree with the bolded. I know she is MY baby, so it just doesn't get under my skin. My dad calls DD "RoRo" because her middle name is Rose and I think it's cute.
I dunno. Maybe I am lax about this?
