So my friend just texted me "sorry I've been MIA, I was registering DD for her bday, I'll shoot you an email with her registry info "
Umm, seriously? First of, I didn't even know there were registries for 1 y.o and second, so what? Am I supposed to buy her a present from that darn registry? I mean I was going to buy her a present but come on!
Re: Registry for a 1 year old?
IMO, that is tacky and gift grabby. It isn't like a 1 year old has to get anything. I mean really, come on people. I would never do a registry for any birthday.
I have mixed feelings. I do think it seems gift grabby, but I get sick of returning stuff that is the wrong size, not our style or duplicate.
We do "wish lists" to the grandparents who ask for them. In fact, it's a family tradition in my immediate family to exchange wish lists. My mom wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe in the case of grandparents only, I would do it out of convenience.
If you do them, they should only be for people who specifically ask for a wish list. Then you can point them in the direction of the registry. Otherwise, adding them to the invite for all is super tacky IMO.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that thinks this is tacky. Just for that i'm NOT going to buy a present off the registry lol.

I wouldn't either. I spend time/energy/thought in to what I gave. I don't need/want a generic list.
