gerber goodstart users

DS has not been wanting to eat for about three days.  We have been supplementing with gerber goodstart protect.  Ever since we opened this particular can of formula.  We have always used the same type and brand of formula.  He acts like it tastes bad or something and will "pretend eat."  It also isn't mixing right.  I've noticed the past few cans the formula is not mixing correctly and was leaving big lumps of powder floating in it.  I have been vigilant in getting it to mix.  I even called the 1-800 number on the can last week and talked to customer service.  I did everything they told me to and it still doesn't mix right.

I think my baby is telling me something.  I tasted the formula to see if it tasted off but it seemed ok.  It's not like I taste it regularly to really know. He will BF just fine.  It is something with the formula and DH thinks so too.

I wish I could just make enough breast milk to not have this problem.  But my body won't cooperate.  (I'm on domperidone and been to an LC.)  We just tried giving him simmilac and he chugged it like a champ and wanted more.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Goodstart is sadly the only thing I could get DS to agree to, but I've always had problems with its consistency. Some cans mix up great and have no bubbles, other ones mix up well but have TONS of bubbles, and others still are a giant PITA to mix and I have to reach in with a knife or whatever to break up the chunk.

I have had a few bottles that mixed up with some chunks. Usually though, as long as I shake it right when I put the powder in it is ok. The only time I have noticed the chunks is when I put the powder in and waited a bit to shake it. She drinks it just fine though.

the only time i have had problems with it chunking up and not mixing right is if i dont shake the battle right away to mix it.  they also have the new similac bottles that have a little hanging thing that is supposed to help mix the formula better.  i personally have never used them so i dont know if they work well, just heard about them. if he took the similac like that i would just leave him on it, or ask your doc. but i have never heard of a baby doing that.
