Hitting others..

So I don't usually post over here I do mainly on 3rd trip since I am pregnant. Anyway my dd who is almost 3 has been hitting other kids lately. Usually its because they have provoked her still no reason she should do that and I always discipline her by putting her in time out and explaining what she did was wrong. She doesn't do it all the time but I don't want her doing that at all and I dont think anything is working. Some parents just don't understand at all and think its just so horrible but she is such a sweet little girl and I want people to see that. Any advice on this? Anyone else going through this?

My DS is very aggressive. Unfortunately, all the advice I've been given is to be consistent with discipline and they will outgrow it. Everyone I've talked to said it got better by about 3.5. We've been dealing with it since a little before 3. I'm seeing improvement, but hoping he matures out of it soon or gives up and realizes we're not going to let him hit. ::sigh:: good luck with your DD!

We went through this phase, DD was a hitter for about 4 months. We would practice time out and communication as to why the behavior was wrong. Eventually, she grew out of it. I hated when other ppl didn't understand 'why' she was acting this way. She's a toddler some hit or bite. Either they don't have toddlers or they haven't had children in a long time and can't remember.
