Hey ladies! My DD is going to be 1 in a week and i'm due in November...2u2 here we come. I have a few questions for those of you in the same boat as I am. My DD currently uses a paci for naps/sleeping but she will fall asleep without it sometimes, we are still full on using bottles but she takes a sippy cup with water and does really well with it and we are nearly weaned into cow's milk. ok, so ehre are my questions:
1. How are you doing everything with the shear exhaustion of the first tri?
2. when are you/did you go to full sippys/cups and ditch the bottle?
3. Do I ditch the paci at the same time as the bottle?
4. This is aways down the road but will you keep both LO's in cribs for a while or transition oldest to a toddler bed?
Re: To those KU...a few questions
Great questions and I have no answers!
I'm due in October (2u2 as well) and DS is still in the same situation as you. We hope to be weaning from bottles and formula after his 12 week check up this week. I will be curious about everyone's answers!
However, I have been tired since the day DS was born so being KU hasn't really made a difference for me

Also due in Nov.
1. How are you doing everything with the shear exhaustion of the first tri?
I am a SAHM and my LO is very laid back. If something doesn't get done oh well. The house is always tidy and laundry is always done.
2. when are you/did you go to full sippys/cups and ditch the bottle?
We never had a bottle, I still BF and plan to go until age two. She may wean on her own. She doesn't nurse as much as she use to though, usually when she is tired.
3. Do I ditch the paci at the same time as the bottle?
I would do the bottle first then the paci.
4. This is aways down the road but will you keep both LO's in cribs for a while or transition oldest to a toddler bed?
My older DD's started climbing out of their cribs at 18ms and I figure she will also do this (she is already lifting her leg up), so we plan on have this LO in a toddler bed before LO arrives. This is our last and I don't want two cribs.
1. How are you doing everything with the shear exhaustion of the first tri? It sucked, and I went to bed as soon as I laid DD down. It gets better :-)
2. when are you/did you go to full sippys/cups and ditch the bottle? All sippy at 1 year. Today was our first day of all sippy with DS and his birthday was yesterday (did the same with DD)
3. Do I ditch the paci at the same time as the bottle? I didn't. DD was VERY dependent on the paci, so I let her keep it. We did anytime until 18 months, then car and bed only for a few months, then dropped it off to bed only. She still gets it at bedtime. I will do something similar for DS.
4. This is aways down the road but will you keep both LO's in cribs for a while or transition oldest to a toddler bed? We got a second crib and I am glad we did! We got convertibles (graco are awesome and very very affordable) DD is 2 1/2 and still sleeps in her crib and has never tried to get out. *knock on wood lol. I think the crib is a HUGE asset because you can use it to briefly get situations handled. ex. we kept a basket of toys next to DD's crib. If DS had a blowout something and I couldn't have my 100% attention on her, I would put her in her crib with a few toys for a couple minutes to get things under control and know she wasn't getting into something she wasn't supposed to.
GL and congrats! It is a little tough for the first few weeks, but once you get a routine down, it is really nice! They now are big enough that they can play and entertain each other. It is heartwarming to watch as they make each other laugh!
