Waking to early! Help!!

Have any of you moms had a problem with a toddler that wakes too early? DS is 2.5 and in the past few weeks he has been waking for the day at 430 and I can't get him back to sleep. He used to sleep 730 to 630 with a 2 hr nap. Now he is sleeping 730 to 430 with a 1 hr nap. He is crabby and overtired but I'm not sure what to do to help him. Not to mention I don't want to get up at 430 either. Any suggestions would help a ton!

  • Is he still in the crib or a toddler bed? We moved DS into a full size which was much more comfortable.  He started sleeping in until 8am (was waking up between 5 at 7am before) and today I had to actually make him get up!  He may just be uncomfortable in his bed.

  • I swear by the Gro Clock. I bought it out of desperation and lo and behold, it actually works! And it'S not just us - We've recommended it to several friends and they're pretty much all as thrilled with it as we are.

  • 1. DD and I shared a room so she would wake up the minute she saw me. So I moved outta the room.

    2. I let DD wine for awhile or cry herself back to sleep if she wakes up too early. Usually she will talk herself back to sleep.

    3. I changed DD's bedtime. She goes to bed at 9pm now and sleeps till at least 8am.

    4. There might be a reason your baby is waking up so early....maybe hungry?

Try making his bedtime an hour later at least! And make sure he is super full before bed. Or ware him out before bed...that's what we do with DD.
