Baby Names

Vote on Classic BOY NAMES...

We already know our possible girl name... but we're a bit stumped on another boy name.  We're leaning towards John Walter (DH is "sold" on it, but I'm not 100% sold).  Walter is a family name.

DS' name is Curtis.

Re: Vote on Classic BOY NAMES...

  • My vote goes to Augustus George, which I find a very dashing name. And I love the nn Gus, we also use it for Angus. John Walter would be my second choice. I'm a little biased on this one too, John's my son's middle name.

  • I love John. It's so simple and classic. Jack is a nickname for it and obviously Johnny, so as a little guy you h ave some choices.

I would use John Walker. I admit I am completely biased but I've never known a guy named John who wasn't happy with his name.

  • I think John Walter is nice.
  • John Walter is a very strong name... I also like the pp's suggestion of using Jack as a nn. Augustus George is a very good name as well!

  • I prefer the Walter John option followed by Gordon Walter.

  • I love John (it's our boy name this time - John Richard) - and chose John Walter.

Only thing is that when pairing that mn with Johnny, it definitely reminds of Johnny Walker, which is not necessarily the best connotation.

I thought the same thing... but how often would the NN be paired with the MN?

DH prefers the NN "Jack" but I think that name is too popular right now, and would prefer "Johnny" if we choose John Walter.
