October 2012 Moms

Worried..

I am about 9 1/2 weeks pregnant and this have really noticed that this week my breast are barely even tender anymore.  Also my nipples look more "normal" than they did.  Wondering if any one else had this happen to them.  I know that loss of symptoms is a good indication of miscarriage.  So I was wondering if this happened to anyone else.

  • Same thing happened to me around 9w which worried me. Everything was fine at my 10w appt though.

  • Also, symptoms meaning good or loss meaning bad is kind of a naive myth. You can have symptoms but have a missed miscarriage. The body doesn't always realize the baby has stopped developing and keeps on doing what it thinks it should. Losing symptoms will happen as new symptoms begin to take form as well. Boobs won't be sore for the entire time, typically. With that said, I try very hard to not put stock in symptoms or non symptoms. Easier said than done, but I try.

This exactly.  I had no loss of symptoms when I miscarried in October.  Try not to dwell on it.  I know it's easier said than done.

  • Loss of symptoms just means that you're either getting used to them and don't realize them as much or that your body is getting used to the hormones.  This happens to a lot of women.  Sometimes the symptoms spike again or they go away and you develop new ones.  Try not to worry.

  • I agree with the PP's. I don't think you should worry either. Maybe you can get a fetal doppler to set your mind at ease every now and then. You can hear the precious heartbeat whenever you want.
  • Symptoms come and go please try not to worry too much.  Some women find symptoms disappear around 10 weeks.
