Misscarriage question - Please help

I had a D&C done 2 weeks ago and i am still bleeding. Did anyone have the same experience? my doctor told me it is normal. It is just such a difficult time for me and i am a bit scared about this experience. Also, how soon after did your get your regular period? so confusing... i have my follow-up appt in 4 days...

 your response is greatly appreciated...

    It is normal to bleed beyond 12 weeks. The only cause for concern is a fever. As for AF I got mine exactly 28 days after my surgery with the first one. I do want to caution that my hormones were a mess for 2 months after that causing no ovulation.
    DD born 1/28/99 Second BFP 7/23/11 due 4/1/2012 miscarriage 9/2/2011 DNC 9/4/2011 BFP 2/3/2012 due 10/19/2012 mmc discovered 3/30/2012- d&c 4/3/2012 loss was around 9 weeks. Going through rpl testing. Dr. Suspects some type of blood clothing disorder. Current dx- endometrosis stage II and possible PCOS.

    My OB said if I bled for more that 2 weeks to call her, though I only bled for about 1 day, then a bit of spotting for a few more days. If it's alot of blood, maybe call your OB, if it's spotting you can probably wait until your appointment. I had my D&C 32 days ago and no AF yet, but I feel like she's right around the corner. It's a scary and emotional time and your body will be a mess for awhile! GL and sorry for your loss.

    I spotted for 2 weeks after D&C, had AF 5 weeks after D&C. If you're still bleeding heavily I would make sure you have an ultrasound at your follow-up to ensure that there are no more "products of conception" remaining. 

    I will also add what previous poster said, I didn't ovulate the following cycle, and my hormones were still a mess the one after that.
