Our kiddos are 7 weeks and adjusted age they're not even one week. They were 4#6oz & 4#10oz at birth & weighed 8# 1oz & 8# 5 oz at 6 weeks. They're eating 4 oz right now, which seems like what a FT baby would eat at 7 wks. Just seems like alot.
Anyone who have preemies of similar circumstance, how much are they eating?

Re: How much does your LO eat?
Ethan was 4lb7oz at birth and averages 100ml a feeding, he is about 7lbs. Allison was 3lb 4oz and is now about 5 and1/2, she averages about 70 ml. they are 6 weeks but same gestation as your two.
I can't exactly remember but I think when they were 1 weeks adjusted they were eating about 50-60 mls? I breast and bottle feed though, so I can't always measure what they eat. 4oz does seem like a lot for their age though, but I guess if they are tolerating it and your Dr. is fine there shouldn't be a problem. I don't think my guys were up to 4oz at one feeding until they were over 3 months adjusted. Now they take 6oz twice and day and BF on demand.

It might be because your LO is younger in gestation. My daughter eats about 60-70ml now (she is petite). Also about 3 weeks ago when they came out of the NICU (she was eating around 40ml, him 60ml at 37 and 1/2 weeks. So it sounds very normal about what your LO is eating.
Both my boys are offered 100 mL per feeding every three hours during the day (they STTN). They are 11 and 12 lbs, 13 weeks adjusted. Honestly, it's not much more than what they were getting when they were discharged, and sometimes they don't finish the whole bottle, but they're gaining and the pedi is pleased. Also, they're on 30 cal formula...so it's the equivalent of 4 oz if it were 22 cal neosure.
We tried and were successful at getting Ryan to take much more in the beginning, but they he would just spit up all the time. Like projectile spit up. So I'm happier if he takes less and keeps it all in.
That's good to know... thanks! He's gaining about an ounce a day so I guess that means he's getting enough for now.
