I currently just started my 3rd round of Clomid after having a successful round of ovulation but no pregnancy. My question is...does anyone know anything about how prednisone can affect fertility if it's your husband taking it? I don't go back to my dr. until the 30th so I figured I'd wait to ask until then. I wasn't sure if anyone had any info on it or not. I looked a few things up online but everything is back and forth about it. Any info would be appreciated

Steroids can be bad for sperm production.. I think it can impact the already mature sperm immediately and effects can last through the 3 months it takes to mature new sperm.

My husband was on large amounts of Prednisone in October due to a severe allergic reaction that landed him in over night stays in the hospital.  Twice!  Three months later we had IUI#3 scheduled because his Hospital doc (not Uro or RE) said it was fine 70 days after for sperm.  Our IUI was (I think) 81 days after his last dose (because he did a step down method) and after the wash there was only two sperm living.  Two.  We were devastated.  

Remember that the sperm coming out now are made 90 days prior, not 70.  And what it has the most effect on is motility not count (because his pre wash count was 70mil/ml - his highest count ever).  But his motility was semi low 36%, but what was really bad was the motility grade.  Meaning they could swimm but not very well.  After the wash, two were still there swimming. OMFG.  

How long has he been on it?  Is it something he needs to stay on or is it short term?   What was his S/A and was he on it three months prior to that S/A?

He's been on it for about 2 weeks now. He has Ulcerative Colitis and whenever he has flare-ups, he has to start the Prednisone again. He has to do the same thing where he's on it for a little while, and then does the step down method once his symptoms have gone away. There's no set time frame..each time is different. I'm just thinking that if this Clomid cycle doesn't work, that it would probably make sense to then wait a few months to try again if the Prednisone has that much of an effect on it.
