Leg Control Post CS

I'm almost 5 weeks post CS and I still don't feel as if I have complete control over my left leg.  My right leg is completly normal.  My left one feels heavy when trying to lift it while sitting.  I almost have to use my hands to help lift it while crossing my legs.  It's a weird feeling, has anyone else experienced this?  Does it get better?

Re: Leg Control Post CS

  • I've never had this, after 2 c/s. I would ask the doc. That sounds unusual.

  • I've never had this, even when I had an epidural that left one leg paralyzed while it was in.  Call the doctor.

This. I've had two CS now and they never even mentioned this as a possibility during recovery from either one.

  • Call the doc! I have had 2 cs also and not had anything like that nor have I been told that it could be like that.

  • I agree with all PPs...I never had anything like that with my c/s.
  • Ditto the others - that doesn't sound at all normal. Call.

  • I agree with everyone else about calling your doc. I didn't have any problems like that after my c section
  • I wonder if your ab muscles got messed up? Definitely call your doctor - hope it's nothing serious!

  • I did not have leg control problems, but I did (do) have a problem with my right thigh.  I had a lot of pain, numbness, burning, etc.  I had problems during my pregnancy there where it would feel like my veins were going to explode.  I thought it might be related, but my doctor told me that during the C-Section they use electricity to cauterize or cut you (can't remember what he said).  That involves them needing to complete the circuit and often they do this by placing a metal pad on your leg.  My doctor thought that might be the reason I was having so much trouble with my leg.  Perhaps, your problem might be related to mine?  Otherwise I would think that maybe something went wrong with your spinal.  I would call your doctor.
