Alternatives to clomid?

Hi ladies,

I mentioned in my intro that clomid had a bad effect on my CM, requiring us to go immediately to IUI for our first 2 cycles.  I have a consult with a new RE on Tuesday, and I was wondering if any of you had any ideas of alternatives I could ask about. Anyone with a similar problem? Maybe Femara?

Clomid made my CM bad as well (and also thinned my lining out).  My RE switched me to Femera. 

I'm on my 3rd cycle of Femera now.  My lining went back to normal right away, but my CM is still pretty scant & only gets to the creamy stage.  We've done iuis bc of this.  GL!

Clomid thinned my lining, so this is my first injects cycle and I was amazed that EWCM showed up as early as cd5 and has been here ever since!  But it's much more expensive than clomid and is used after several cycles of IUI usually...where CM doesn't matter.  I don't know that a doctor would use them for TI at all.

I did Femara last cycle and it made me have extra CM. However is made me extremely sick. I was dizzy all time time which made me want to throw up all day. Hated how I felt. My RE was shocked that I got sick most people don't expericnce any SE.

Wow, cd5! My CM isn't all that wonderful to begin with, I don't see much, if any around O. My best is usually watery.  I also only produced 1 follie on 150mg of clomid. Maybe that's normal? But I thought there were other drugs that might produce more. I'm probably thinking of injects. I'll see what the RE says. We'll do whatever we need too!

Hmm.. That's good to know. I'm sorry you were sick though! I'm definitely interested in trying Femara if it's an option. I wasn't really happy with my overall response to Clomid.

I never did clomid. Only femara. It also made me super dizzy and gave me atrocious migraines. My re was also surprised since most dont get s/e with femara

 I read some of your posts while I was lurking and I'm so sorry for all you are going through! :-(

If you don't mind my asking, how many follies did you produce on Femara?

I've only been on Clomid, but I had a good friend on Femara.
