Need Serious T&P for DH

I know DH is not very loved on these boards and I understand that but I really need T&P for the Daddy of my babies right now. He has bright red blood in his stool. The family doctor is calling in a referral to a surgeon. He's virtually positive it's cancer. DH and I are scared out of our minds. Please send vibes for health and strength. Thanks so much.

Thanks so much. I'm really hoping we're early. DH is one of those that refuses to see a doctor. He's had stomach pains for a very long time but blood only a couple days. I'm praying for IBS or even Crohn's. But if it is cancer I am glad to hear its treatable. Thanks so much.

I wish him the best but bright red blood in the stool isn't cause for an immediate surgical intervention. Has he had a colonoscopy? Why is the physician assuming cancer and not hemmorrhoids or a polyp?

Thanks for the T&P everyone. Still no call from the specialist. The GP said that if they don't call today, I should call in the morning - which I will. 

Lanie: The GP did use a scope and didn't see polyps or hemorrhoids. However, his scope can only go so far so I'm hoping those types of things aren't totally ruled out.

Since I originally posted, family has been sharing stories that have calmed us a bit. Apparently everyone is shocked that the GP suggested cancer. This is very encouraging so I'm hanging onto the idea that the doctor was being a bit of an alarmist. Here's hoping.
